# Tag with @

Type @ in a prompt to name a picture, clip or sound: an element from your Assets in Studio or Spacelab, a reference wired into a Spacelab model, or a file you uploaded to a space's form.

**Key facts**

- In Sloosh Studio, typing `@` in the prompt lists your Elements; picking one adds it as a reference and puts its tag in the prompt.
- In a Sloosh Spacelab Prompt node, `@` lists the references wired into the model the Prompt feeds, written `@Image 1`, `@Video 1` or `@Audio 1`, and your Elements under From library.
- Some Sloosh spaces built on Seedance let you tag the images and videos you upload to their form as `@Image 1`, `@Video 1` and so on.
- In a Sloosh space form, a tag whose upload was removed turns into `@Image ?` and Generate stays off until you delete the tag or upload the file again.

## Where @ works

| Where | What @ lists | What the tag looks like |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Studio](https://sloosh.ai/docs/studio.md) prompt | Your Elements | The element's tag, such as `@red-sneakers` |
| Spacelab [Prompt node](https://sloosh.ai/docs/nodes-input.md#prompt) | References wired into the model it feeds, then your Elements | `@Image 1`, `@Video 1`, `@Audio 1`, or a library pick's name |
| A [space's](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spaces.md) prompt box (some Seedance spaces) | Images and videos uploaded in the same form | `@Image 1`, `@Video 1` |

A tag tells the model which picture you mean. Tagged or not, give each reference a job in the prompt, as in [References](https://sloosh.ai/docs/references.md).

## In Studio

1. Type `@` in the prompt. A list of your Elements opens.
2. Keep typing to narrow it by name or tag, then click one or press Enter.
3. The element joins your references and its tag goes in the prompt where you typed.

**Example**

```text
Put @red-sneakers on the runner in @street-runner. Keep the shoe's colour and laces exactly as they are.
```

- A tagged element counts toward the model's reference limit. If the model has no room left, Studio says so and adds nothing.
- Remove a reference and its tag leaves the prompt.
- Audio clips show in the list only on models that take audio.
- On Edit video's Edit and Extend tools, `@` also lists the clip you're editing and the files you added, so you can name each one.

Elements come from [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md): add a generation with Add to Elements, or upload one. Renaming an element's tag later doesn't break prompts that already use it.

## In Spacelab

Write in a Prompt node that's wired into a model's Prompt port, and type `@`. The list has two parts:

- On this node: the references already wired into that model. Picking one writes its tag, such as `@Image 2`.
- From library: your Elements. Picking one adds an Image Input (or Video Input) holding it, named after the element, wires it into the model's next free reference slot, and writes its name as the tag, such as `@Meera`.

**Example: three references into Video (references) on Seedance**

```text
Put @Image 1 in the outfit from @Image 2. She walks toward the camera down the street in @Image 3.
```

### How references are numbered

- Images, videos and audio are numbered separately, each from 1, in the order of the model's slots. `@Image 1` is the first reference image.
- On Video (references), a Multi Image Input counts each of its pictures in order: with three pictures in slot 1, the image in slot 2 is `@Image 4`.
- On Image Model, tags follow the slot instead: `@Image 2` is the picture in slot 2, and `@Image 2.3` the third picture of a Multi Image Input in slot 2. Names set in Input labels replace the numbers.
- On Video edit with Seedance 2.5, the clip you're editing is `@Video 1`.
- Rewire or reorder the inputs and the tags in the prompt renumber themselves, so each still points at the same picture.
- Tags stop at the model's reference limit. When every slot is full, a library pick says so and adds nothing.
- On a Video node, which takes a first and a last frame, a library pick goes into a free frame and is tagged by its name.

### Which models read tags

Seedance reads `@Image 1` and the rest as pointers to the exact reference. Other models get the references in the same order and read the tag as part of the prompt, so it still helps to say what each one is for.

### When a tag breaks

- Delete the input behind a library tag such as `@Meera` and Run is blocked until you remove the tag or wire the picture back.
- A numbered tag that points past the wired references, such as `@Image 9` with three images, shows in red but still runs. Fix it before you run.

## In a space's form

Some spaces built on Seedance let you tag your own uploads in their prompt box. You can tell because the empty box says Type @ to tag an image you uploaded.

1. Upload your images or videos first. Each thumbnail shows its number.
2. In the prompt box, type `@`. The list shows what you uploaded in this form, such as Image 1 and Image 2 with their file names.
3. Pick one and its tag goes in the box.

**Example**

```text
@Image 1 wears the jacket from @Image 2 and dances like the person in @Video 1.
```

- Images and videos are numbered separately, each from 1: first by the order of the upload fields, then by the order you uploaded.
- Remove an upload and the tags after it renumber to follow their files. A tag whose file is gone turns into `@Image ?` (or `@Video ?`) and Generate stays off: A tagged image was removed. Delete its tag or upload it again.
- A tag for a number you haven't uploaded, such as `@Image 3` with two images, also holds Generate until you fix it.
- Tags are off in Batch mode, since every product brings its own images, and when the space's model picker is on a model other than Seedance.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I use one of my saved images in a Sloosh prompt?

Type `@` in the Sloosh Studio prompt and pick the element from the list. It joins your references and its tag goes in the prompt. Elements come from [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md); add one with Add to Elements or Upload.

### What does @Image 1 mean in a Sloosh prompt?

It names the first reference image the model gets. In a Sloosh Spacelab Prompt node it's the first image wired into the model; in a space's form it's the first image you uploaded. Videos and audio are numbered on their own, as `@Video 1` and `@Audio 1`.

### Why does my Sloosh space prompt say @Image ?

The image that tag pointed at was removed from the form. Generate stays off until you delete the `@Image ?` tag or upload the image again.

### Do all Sloosh models understand @Image tags?

Seedance reads them as pointers to the exact reference. Other Sloosh models get the references in the same order and read the tag as words, so also say what each reference is for, such as "the jacket in @Image 2".
