# What is Studio

Studio is the quickest way from a prompt to an image or a video: write what you want, pick a model and press Generate.

Last updated: 2026-10-10

**Key facts**

- Sloosh Studio makes images and videos from a prompt: write what you want, add a photo if you have one, pick a model and press Generate.
- Sloosh Studio has two pages, [Image](https://sloosh.ai/studio/image) and [Video](https://sloosh.ai/studio/video), and offers 11 image models and 16 video models.
- Sloosh Studio makes up to 4 outputs per Generate, and the button shows the cost of the whole batch first; a video edit makes one output.
- Sloosh Studio's Edit video mode has five tools: Edit, Extend, Upscale, HDR and Frame rate.
- Sloosh Studio's image editing offers Upscale to 2K or 4K, Remove BG, Resize, AI Removal and Refine.

## What it is

Studio makes one image or video at a time. Write a prompt, add a photo if you have one, pick a model and press Generate. Results land in My Generations; the Templates tab next to it holds ready-made prompts you can start from.

## When to use it

- Use Studio to try an idea, compare models or make a one-off.
- Use a [space](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spaces.md) when someone already built a workflow for the job.
- Use [Spacelab](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spacelab.md) when a result takes several steps, or when you want the same kind of result again and again.

## A 30-second example

1. Open [Image](https://sloosh.ai/studio/image) in Studio.
2. Type `A tan leather tote on a marble table, soft window light`.
3. Press Generate. The button shows the credit cost first.
4. Open the result in My Generations to download it or edit it.

[Your first generation](https://sloosh.ai/docs/first-generation.md) walks through the same steps in more detail.

## Image and video

Studio has two pages, [Image](https://sloosh.ai/studio/image) and [Video](https://sloosh.ai/studio/video), both in the top bar. On Video, the rail to the left of the prompt box has two buttons: Create makes a new clip, and Edit changes one you bring with Edit, Extend, Upscale, HDR or Frame rate. On a phone, Create and Edit are the tabs at the top.

_Edit video: pick a tool from the tabs, add the clip in the Add video slot, then describe the change (Edit and Extend) or pick the settings (the others)._

## Model and settings

One chip under the prompt picks the model. The others come from that model, so one image model might offer aspect ratio and resolution while another offers quality and size. Some video models add a duration. In Video mode, every model also gets Studio's camera controls for camera, lens and aperture.

_Under the prompt, left to right: + adds references, then the model, Enhance (the wand), the model's own settings, how many to make, and Generate with the cost of the whole batch._

The same row sets how many outputs to make, up to 4. A video edit makes one.

## Enhance

The wand switch next to the model is Enhance. On, Sloosh rewrites your prompt for the model you picked before it runs. Off, the model gets your words exactly as typed. Turn it off when your prompt is already detailed or the wording matters, such as text that must appear in the image. Open a result to see the prompt the model was sent.

## Use your library in a prompt

Type `@` in the prompt to pick an element from your [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md), such as a character or a background. It goes in as a reference, and its tag sits in the prompt where you typed, so you can say what it's for: `Put @red-sneakers on the runner in @street-runner`. A tag counts toward the model's reference limit. More in [Tag with @](https://sloosh.ai/docs/tagging.md).

## References

References show the model what to use: your product, a person, a place or a style. Add them any of these ways:

- Upload media from the + menu in the chip row.
- In Video mode, the + menu splits into Upload references and Upload frames, so you choose what a file is for.
- Pick from your library in the drawer above the prompt, or drag files onto the page.
- Paste an image or video with Cmd+V or Ctrl+V.
- Choose Use as reference on any result.

![The + menu in Video mode with Upload references and Upload frames](https://sloosh.ai/docs/studio-video-menu.webp)

_In Video mode the + menu asks what a file is for: a reference, or a start or end frame._

In Video mode each model sets how many references it takes, and Studio shows the limit. Some models take start and end frames or references, not both. Studio closes the other option once you add one. More in [References](https://sloosh.ai/docs/references.md).

## Cost

The Generate button shows the total cost of all the outputs before you press it.

## My Generations

Results go to My Generations. Each card has Copy, Download and Use as reference, and a failed one says what went wrong and offers Retry. Rate results with thumbs up or down.

Open a result to see its Details: the prompt, the inputs, the model and its settings, and the credits it used. Two buttons there start the next one:

- Recreate puts the same prompt, references and settings back in the prompt box, so you can change one thing and run it again.
- Reuse puts this result in the prompt box as a reference, to build on it.

_Details shows exactly what made a result._

## Edit an image

Open an image to Upscale it to 2K or 4K, Remove BG, Resize it, use AI Removal to take out an object, or Refine to paint over the part to change. To change anything else, type the change in the box below it. Editing works on images Sloosh made, not on files you only attached to a prompt.

## Share and publish

Share in an open result's header copies a link to it. Publish, at the foot of Details, turns your result into a [template](https://sloosh.ai/docs/templates.md) anyone can recreate.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between Sloosh Studio, spaces and Spacelab?

Sloosh Studio is for trying an idea, comparing models or making a one-off from a prompt. A [space](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spaces.md) runs a workflow someone already built, from a form. [Spacelab](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spacelab.md) is where you build a multi-step workflow, or one you want to run again and again.

### Should I turn Enhance on or off in Sloosh Studio?

Leave Enhance on for short prompts: Sloosh rewrites your prompt for the model you picked. Turn it off when your prompt is already detailed or the exact wording matters, such as text that must appear in the image. Open a result's Details to see the prompt the model was actually sent.

### Can I edit an existing video in Sloosh?

Yes. On Sloosh Studio's [Video](https://sloosh.ai/studio/video) page, press Edit on the rail to the left of the prompt box (on a phone, the Edit tab at the top), pick Edit, Extend, Upscale, HDR or Frame rate, and add your clip in the Add video slot. Edit and Extend take a written description of the change; the other tools take settings. Each video edit makes one output.

### Can I upscale or remove the background of an AI image in Sloosh?

Yes. Open an image Sloosh made and use Upscale (2K or 4K) or Remove BG from the edit toolbar. Editing works on images Sloosh generated, not on files you only attached to a prompt.

### How do I run the same prompt and settings again in Sloosh Studio?

Open the result and press Recreate in its Details: Sloosh Studio puts the same prompt, references and settings back in the prompt box, so you can change one thing and run it again. Reuse instead puts the result itself in the prompt box as a reference to build on.
