# Projects

A project keeps everything for one idea (a film, a series, a brand, a product launch) in one place: its generations, uploads, elements and folders, private to you or shared with your team.

**Key facts**

- A Sloosh project holds the generations, uploads and elements for one idea, such as a short film, a series or a brand, sorted into folders, with its own brief and default settings.
- Every Sloosh project starts Private, so only you can open it. Make it Team and everyone in your workspace can open it and generate in it. A Team project can't go back to Private.
- Anything you generate inside a Sloosh project is saved to that project, and to the folder you have open.
- Archiving or deleting a Sloosh project never deletes what's in it: its generations and uploads stay in [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md).
- An AI agent connected to Sloosh over [MCP](https://sloosh.ai/docs/mcp.md) can create your projects, sort them into folders and generate into them, with your own rights.

## What a project is

A project is a home for one idea: a short film, a series, a brand, a product launch. The images and videos you make for it, the files you upload for it and the elements it uses sit together, with folders to sort them. Open Studio in the top bar and pick Projects, or go straight to [Projects](https://sloosh.ai/projects). Projects come with every plan and cost nothing extra; generating in one costs the usual credits.

## Create a project

1. On [Projects](https://sloosh.ai/projects), press New project, give it a name and press Create project.
2. Write a brief on the Set up screen: the story, the look and who it's for. Everyone on the project sees it in Settings.
3. Pick the defaults: an aspect ratio, an image model and a video model. Every new prompt in the project starts from them, and you can change them any time.
4. Press Start creating.

_Each card shows the project's latest stills, how many generations it holds and when it last changed._

## Private and Team

Every project starts Private: only you can open it, and workspace admins can't either. When it's ready to share, open Settings and press Make it Team. Everyone in your workspace can then open it, see everything in it and generate in it.

A Team project can't go back to Private. Once it's Team, your teammates add their own work to it, and turning it Private would hide their work from them. If you want somewhere private again, start a new project.

![A confirm dialog: Make Summer Launch a Team project? Everyone in your workspace can open it and everything made in it. A Team project can't go back to Private.](https://sloosh.ai/docs/project-make-team.webp)

In a Private project only you can change the name, brief and defaults. In a Team project anyone can, and each field says who changed it last.

### What a Private project can hold

- Only your own work. A teammate's generation can't move into your Private project, because it would disappear for them.
- Studio generations. Results from a space or Spacelab can go into Team projects only.
- Nothing already shared. A generation published as a template or with a share link can't move into a Private project.
- Finished runs. A run that's still generating can move once it's done.

Files you upload inside a Private project stay private to you. When the project becomes Team, they become the team's too.

## Folders

Folders sort a project's generations, one level deep. Press + next to Folders, give it a name, and the new folder opens. What you generate while a folder is open lands in it, and the line under the prompt box says where, such as Saves to Summer Launch / Hero shots. A folder's menu has Rename and Delete. Deleting a folder moves its generations back to All generations.

To move a generation, open its menu and pick Move to folder, or select several and press Move to folder in the bar that appears. A run moves as one: every output from the same prompt goes with it, along with their edits (Upscale, Remove BG and the rest).

![The Move to folder dialog in Summer Launch with Hero shots picked. It says it moves all 3 outputs from this run, and their edits.](https://sloosh.ai/docs/project-move-folder.webp)

_Moving one output moves its whole run._

## Generate in a project

Generations and Elements have Studio's prompt box at the bottom, with Image, Video and Edit beside it. It works like [Studio](https://sloosh.ai/docs/studio.md), and everything you make is saved to the project. Each project keeps its own draft, so a half-written prompt stays in its project when you open another one.

![The Summer Launch project: the left menu with Generations, Elements, Uploads, Settings and the Hero shots and Lookbook folders, two results in the grid, and a prompt for three hero shots in the prompt box](https://sloosh.ai/docs/project-generations.webp)

_The prompt box starts from the project's defaults (4:5 here). Saves to, under it, names the project, and the folder when one is open._

The project's uploads and elements come first when you press + or type `@` in the prompt. On a computer you can also drag an element or an upload onto the prompt box, or press Add to prompt on its card, to use it as a [reference](https://sloosh.ai/docs/references.md).

To bring in older work, open a generation's menu in [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/assets) and pick Add to project, then choose the project and, if you like, a folder.

## Uploads and elements

Uploads holds every file added in the project. Press Upload there to add images, videos or audio. One file can sit in several projects.

Elements lists the project's own elements first, then the rest of your workspace's; the filter's In this project shows only the project's. To make one, pick Add to Elements in a generation's or an upload's menu, then give it a tag and a category. The element belongs to this project, and you can still `@tag` it in any project or in Studio. An upload you add to Elements stays in Uploads too. See [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md) for how tags and categories work.

Remove from Elements, in an element's menu, takes it out of Elements without deleting it: it stays in Uploads with its name and tag. The message that confirms it has Undo.

## Archive and delete

Both live at the bottom of a project's Settings. Only the project's owner can use them, or a workspace admin on a Team project.

![Project Settings: Who can see it with Private and Make it Team, the defaults for aspect ratio and models, then Archive project and Delete project](https://sloosh.ai/docs/project-settings.webp)

- Archive hides the project from the list and keeps everything in it. You can still open it, but nothing new is made there. Archived on [Projects](https://sloosh.ai/projects) lists your archived projects; open one and press Restore in its Settings.
- Delete removes the project and its folders. Its generations and uploads stay in [Assets](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md), and a Private project's stay private to you.

When someone leaves the workspace, their Private projects stay hidden. A workspace admin finds them under Projects from people who left, at the bottom of Projects, and can press Take ownership. The project becomes the admin's and stays Private.

## Use projects from an AI agent

Connect Sloosh to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI tool over [MCP](https://sloosh.ai/docs/mcp.md) and your agent sees the same projects you do: your Private ones and your workspace's Team ones. Name the project, and the folder if you want one, in your request. Try one of these:

- Make three 4:5 images of my mint mug on pastel linen in my Summer Launch project, in the Hero shots folder.
- Create a project for my series Night Shift, with a folder for Episode 1 and one for Episode 2.
- Move my last three mug images into the Lookbook folder of Summer Launch.
- What's in my Summer Launch project so far?

Your agent can also create projects and folders, rename and delete folders, edit a project's brief and defaults, move generations and elements and add your uploads. It acts with your own rights, and it can make a Private project Team only if you own it, after you confirm. Archiving, restoring and deleting a project are done in the app, in the project's Settings.

Generating from an agent works like any paid agent run: it gets a quote first, within your daily limit. An archived project takes no new work, so the agent will ask you to restore it first.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a project in Sloosh?

A Sloosh project keeps the generations, uploads and elements for one idea (a film, a series, a brand, a launch) together, with folders to sort them, a brief and default settings for new prompts. Anything you generate inside a project is saved to it. Projects come with every plan.

### Can my team see my Sloosh project?

Only if you make it Team. Every Sloosh project starts Private, which means only you can open it, workspace admins included. Make it Team in the project's Settings and everyone in your workspace can open it and generate in it.

### Can I make a Team project private again in Sloosh?

No. Once a Sloosh project is Team, your teammates add their own work to it, and turning it Private would hide their work from them. Start a new project if you want a private one.

### Does deleting a Sloosh project delete my images and videos?

No. Deleting a Sloosh project removes the project and its folders only. Its generations and uploads stay in Assets, and a Private project's stay private to you. Archive is the softer option: it hides the project and keeps it ready to restore.

### Why can't I move a generation into my Private Sloosh project?

A Private Sloosh project takes only your own Studio generations. It refuses a teammate's work, results from a space or Spacelab, anything published or shared by link, and a run that's still generating. The message after a move names each item that didn't move and why.

### Can an AI agent work in my Sloosh projects?

Yes. Connected over MCP, your agent sees the Sloosh projects you can see. It can generate into a project or folder, create projects and folders, move items and add uploads. It quotes every paid run first and asks you to confirm before it makes a project Team. Archiving and deleting a project are done in the Sloosh app.
