# After Effects and Premiere Pro

A Sloosh panel inside After Effects and Premiere Pro: generate images and video from your comp or sequence, run Spaces and use your Sloosh library without leaving the app.

Last updated: 2026-11-04

**Key facts**

- The Sloosh panel runs inside After Effects 2022 or newer and Premiere Pro 2022 or newer, on macOS and Windows.
- It connects to your Sloosh workspace through Sloosh MCP, so it needs the Pro or Max plan and spends workspace credits within your MCP daily limit.
- From the panel you can generate images and video with your frames, layers and clips as references, run Spaces, and browse or upload to your Sloosh library.
- Results download next to your project, go into a Sloosh bin, and can be placed on the active comp or sequence.
- The panel is not signed with an Adobe certificate yet, so installing it turns on Adobe's PlayerDebugMode setting, which lets any unsigned extension load, not just Sloosh.

## What the panel is

Sloosh for After Effects and Premiere Pro is a panel you dock in your Adobe app. It signs in to your Sloosh account and uses the same models, Spaces, library and credits you have on sloosh.ai. With it you can:

- Generate images and videos, using the current frame, selected layers or clips, or project items as references.
- Run [Spaces](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spaces.md) with your own frames and footage.
- Browse your Sloosh [library](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md), upload files to it and reuse anything in it.
- See your credit balance and today's limit.

Every result downloads to your computer, lands in a Sloosh bin in your project, and can go straight onto your timeline.

### What you need

| You need | Details |
| --- | --- |
| Adobe app | After Effects 2022 or newer, or Premiere Pro 2022 or newer |
| Computer | macOS or Windows |
| Sloosh plan | Pro or Max. The panel connects through [Sloosh MCP](https://sloosh.ai/docs/mcp.md), which needs that plan. |
| Credits | Generations and Space runs spend your workspace credits, within your MCP daily limit. |
| Connection | Internet access, and a web browser to sign in |

You don't need Node.js or any other software. The panel runs inside the Adobe app.

## Install

The panel is an Adobe CEP extension. It is not signed with an Adobe certificate yet, so Adobe apps only load it with a setting called PlayerDebugMode turned on. Turning it on lets your Adobe apps load any unsigned extension, not just Sloosh, so only install other unsigned extensions you trust. The installer turns it on for you; the manual steps below show how to do it yourself.

### Install with the installer

1. Download Sloosh-Plugin.zip and unzip it. Keep the files together: the installer looks for the panel folder next to itself.
2. On a Mac, double-click `Install (Mac).command`. A Terminal window shows the progress; press any key to close it when it says Done. If macOS says the file is from an unidentified developer, right-click it, choose Open, then Open again.
3. On Windows, double-click `Install (Windows).bat` and press any key to close the window when it says Done. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway.
4. Quit After Effects or Premiere Pro completely (not just the project) and open it again.
5. Choose Window, then Extensions, then Sloosh.

The installer copies the panel folder `com.sloosh.ae` into your CEP extensions folder and sets PlayerDebugMode to 1 for CSXS 11, 12 and 13 (CSXS 11 covers the 2022 to 2024 apps, 12 covers 2025, 13 covers 2026 and later). Nothing else on your computer changes. Running it again updates an existing install.

**CEP extensions folder (Mac)**

```text
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
```

**CEP extensions folder (Windows)**

```text
%APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions\
```

On a Mac, PlayerDebugMode is set in the `com.adobe.CSXS.11`, `.12` and `.13` preferences. On Windows it is set under `HKCU\Software\Adobe\CSXS.11`, `.12` and `.13` in the registry.

### Install by hand

Use this if your company's IT settings block the installer.

1. Unzip Sloosh-Plugin.zip and copy the `com.sloosh.ae` folder into your CEP extensions folder (shown above). Create the `extensions` folder if it doesn't exist. On a Mac, press Cmd+Shift+G in Finder and paste the path. On Windows, paste it into the File Explorer address bar.
2. Check that `com.sloosh.ae/CSXS/manifest.xml` is inside the extensions folder.
3. Turn on PlayerDebugMode with the commands below. You only do this once.
4. Quit and reopen the app, then choose Window, then Extensions, then Sloosh.

**Terminal (Mac)**

```text
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.11 PlayerDebugMode 1
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.12 PlayerDebugMode 1
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.13 PlayerDebugMode 1
```

**Command Prompt (Windows)**

```text
reg add HKCU\Software\Adobe\CSXS.11 /v PlayerDebugMode /t REG_SZ /d 1 /f
reg add HKCU\Software\Adobe\CSXS.12 /v PlayerDebugMode /t REG_SZ /d 1 /f
reg add HKCU\Software\Adobe\CSXS.13 /v PlayerDebugMode /t REG_SZ /d 1 /f
```

## Sign in

1. Open the panel: Window, then Extensions, then Sloosh. You can dock it like any other panel.
2. Click Sign in with Sloosh. The Sloosh sign-in page opens in your browser.
3. Sign in and approve access. The approval screen calls the app Sloosh for After Effects, in Premiere Pro too. Pick the workspace that has your credits: the panel works in the workspace you approve here.
4. Go back to the Adobe app. Your credit balance shows in the pill at the top right of the panel.

If the browser tab closed before you approved, click Reopen page in the panel, or Cancel and sign in again. To switch accounts or workspaces, open the ⋯ menu, choose Sign out, then sign in again. Jobs that are running keep going in Sloosh, and their results show up once you sign back in.

## The panel

The panel has three tabs, Create, Spaces and Library, plus the credit pill at the top. Settings and Sign out are in the ⋯ menu.

### Create

1. Choose Image or Video. For video, pick Generate, Edit or Extend. Edit and Extend show only when a model supports them.
2. Pick a [model](https://sloosh.ai/docs/models.md). The list holds the current Sloosh models.
3. Write a prompt. Turn on Enhance to let Sloosh expand your prompt when it generates. The expanded prompt isn't shown to you first.
4. Add references: reference images, start and end frames, reference videos or a source video, depending on the model. Each one can come from Current frame, your selected layers or clips, Project panel selection, Choose file, or From Sloosh library.
5. Set the model's options, such as aspect ratio, resolution, quality, duration, sound, seed or camera. Match comp (Match sequence in Premiere Pro) picks the aspect ratio closest to your frame. Choose 1 to 4 results.
6. Click Generate, or press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows). The button shows the price before you spend anything.

Files you add are uploaded to your Sloosh workspace. A file you already uploaded isn't uploaded again.

Example: in After Effects, select a product layer, write "the bottle on wet black rocks, soft rim light, slow push in", pick a video model, add the layer as the start frame, click Match comp and generate 2 results.

### Spaces

[Spaces](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spaces.md) are reusable Sloosh workflows. You build and edit them on sloosh.ai; the panel runs them.

1. Open Spaces, then Browse. Search, filter by output (Image, Video, Text), or choose Workspace to see only your workspace's Spaces.
2. Open a Space and fill in its form. Image and video fields take your frames, layers, project items, files or library items.
3. Check the cost the panel shows, then run it.
4. If a step pauses for review, approve or reject it in the panel.
5. Use the outputs: import them, copy them, or in After Effects add a text output as a text layer.

Runs lists the Space runs you started from the panel.

### Library

Library shows your Sloosh [library](https://sloosh.ai/docs/library.md): Generated for what you made, Uploads for what you added, filtered to All, Images or Videos, with a search. Upload adds files from your computer, and From URL imports a public https image or video. Uploads can be JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 64 MB each.

On any item you can import it into your project, use an image as a reference or as a video start frame (Animate), use a video as a source to edit or extend, or as a video reference, copy its link, or open it in the browser.

### Credit pill

The pill at the top right shows your workspace balance. Click it to see your plan, your monthly and add-on credits, today's plugin limit and when it resets, and Manage limit, which opens your limit settings in Sloosh.

### Results

Each job you start shows as a card with live progress. Its ⋯ menu has:

| Action | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Recreate | Runs the same prompt and settings again, after showing you the new price |
| Reuse prompt & settings | Loads the job's prompt and settings back into Create |
| Run again | Opens the Space with the same inputs (Space runs) |
| Copy prompt | Copies the prompt |
| Import all | Imports every result of the job into your project |
| Cancel | Stops a job that is still running. Results that already finished stay charged. |
| Remove from list | Takes a finished job off the list in the panel |

Each result in a card has Import, plus a menu with:

| Action | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Add to comp / Add to sequence | Places the result on the active timeline |
| Replace selected layer | Swaps the selected layer for the result (After Effects only) |
| Edit with a prompt | Starts a new image with this one as a reference |
| Animate | Uses the image as a video start frame |
| Extend video / Edit video | Continues or changes a video result, where a model supports it |
| Reveal in Finder / Show in Explorer | Opens the folder with the saved file |
| Copy link | Copies the result's link |
| Open in browser | Opens the result in your browser |

## After Effects and Premiere Pro compared

The same panel runs in both apps. Create, Spaces, Library and credits work the same way; only how results reach your timeline differs.

| Action | After Effects | Premiere Pro |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Add to timeline | Adds a layer to the active comp. Creates a comp when none is open. | Places the clip on the top video track at the playhead. Needs an open sequence. |
| Replace selected | Swaps the selected layer for the result | Not available |
| Current frame | Rendered from the comp | Exported from the sequence. If your version can't export frames, use a file, clip or library item. |
| Text outputs | Add as text layer, or copy | Copy only |

## Spending and limits

The panel spends your workspace credits through Sloosh MCP, so it follows the same rules as your other AI tools:

- Your daily limit is set in Sloosh, in [MCP settings](https://sloosh.ai/mcp#agent-settings), not in the panel. When you reach it, the panel says so and offers Raise limit, which opens those settings.
- If spending is off for plugins, the panel tells you to set a daily limit in Sloosh before you generate.
- Every job shows its price before it starts. Above the amount you set in Ask before spending more than, the panel asks you first, with Review & start.
- If a price expires and the new one is more than 10% higher, the panel asks you again.
- Each job is saved on your computer before it is sent. If the connection drops, the panel picks the same job back up instead of starting a second one, so you aren't charged twice.
- Jobs keep running in Sloosh when you close the panel or quit the app. Their results download and import when you open the panel again.

## Settings

Open the ⋯ menu, then Settings.

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Import into project automatically | Adds each finished result to the project bin |
| Also add to the active comp / sequence | Places each result at the playhead too |
| Fit to comp size | Scales results that don't match the comp's size |
| Project bin | The bin results go into. Default: Sloosh, with Images and Videos inside |
| Save files to | Next to project, or a Custom folder you choose |
| Sloosh MCP server | The server the panel connects to. Leave it as is unless Sloosh support asks you to change it; changing it signs you in again. |

## Update and uninstall

### Update

Get the new Sloosh-Plugin.zip and run the installer again, or copy the new `com.sloosh.ae` folder over the old one. Then restart the app. Your sign-in, settings and job list are kept, because they live outside the panel folder.

### Uninstall

1. Quit After Effects and Premiere Pro.
2. Delete the `com.sloosh.ae` folder from `~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/` on a Mac, or `%APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions\` on Windows.
3. To also remove your sign-in and job history, delete `~/Library/Application Support/Sloosh for After Effects/` on a Mac, or `%APPDATA%\Sloosh for After Effects\` on Windows.

Uninstalling doesn't turn PlayerDebugMode off. If no other extension needs it, set it back to 0 with the same commands as the manual install, with `0` in place of `1`.

## Where your files and data are

| What | Where |
| --- | --- |
| Generated files | A `Sloosh Media` folder next to your project, in a folder per day (YYYY-MM-DD). Unsaved projects use `Documents/Sloosh Media`. Or the custom folder you chose in Settings. |
| In your project | A bin named Sloosh, with Images and Videos inside |
| Sign-in, settings, job list and upload history | Your user's app data folder: `~/Library/Application Support/Sloosh for After Effects/` on a Mac, `%APPDATA%\Sloosh for After Effects\` on Windows. The folder is named for After Effects in Premiere Pro too. |
| Captured frames | Your system's temporary folder, before they are uploaded |
| Prompts and uploads | Your Sloosh workspace, as with anything you make in Sloosh |

Your sign-in is stored in your user's app data folder. On a Mac the file can be read only by your user account.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Sloosh isn't under Window, then Extensions | Quit the app completely and reopen it. Check that `com.sloosh.ae/CSXS/manifest.xml` is in your extensions folder. If it is, run the installer again or turn on PlayerDebugMode by hand. |
| Mac says the installer is from an unidentified developer | Right-click `Install (Mac).command`, choose Open, then Open again. |
| Mac installer does nothing or says permission denied | Open Terminal, type `bash` and a space, drag `Install (Mac).command` into the window, and press Return. |
| Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer | Choose More info, then Run anyway, or install by hand. |
| The panel is blank or grey | Close the panel, quit the app and reopen it. If it keeps happening, run the installer again. |
| Sign-in opened in the browser but the panel is still waiting | Finish approving in the browser. If you closed the tab, click Reopen page; otherwise click Cancel and sign in again. |
| Daily spending limit reached, or Spending is off for plugins | Click Raise limit, or the credit pill and then Manage limit, and set or raise your daily limit in Sloosh. |
| Not enough credits | Top up in Sloosh, or check you approved the workspace that has your credits: Sign out, then sign in again and pick it. |
| Current frame can't export in Premiere Pro | Some Premiere Pro versions don't let panels export frames. Use a file, a clip or a library item instead. |
| Results don't show up in the project | Turn on Import into project automatically in Settings, or click Import on the result. The files are in your `Sloosh Media` folder. |

## Frequently asked questions

### Which Sloosh plan does the After Effects and Premiere Pro panel need?

The Pro or Max plan, because the panel connects to your workspace through Sloosh MCP. Installing the panel is free; generations and Space runs spend your workspace credits.

### Can the Sloosh panel charge me twice for one job?

No. Each job is saved on your computer before it is sent, so if the connection drops the panel picks the same job back up instead of starting another.

### Why does installing the Sloosh panel change an Adobe setting?

The panel isn't signed with an Adobe certificate yet, so Adobe apps load it only with PlayerDebugMode turned on. That setting lets any unsigned extension load, not just Sloosh. Nothing else on your computer changes.

### Can I build or edit Spaces in the Sloosh panel?

No. Build and edit Spaces on sloosh.ai in [Spacelab](https://sloosh.ai/docs/spacelab.md), then run them from the panel's Spaces tab.

### Does the Sloosh panel work in other Adobe apps?

Not yet. It supports After Effects and Premiere Pro, 2022 and later.
